So here we are at the end of another year. I started the day off right with a return visit to the abandoned hospital that I found yesterday with Kim and Kathy. It was downright frigid up there this time though – windy and cold.
We made it through the building that I was in yesterday and were into the second when we hear some banging and footsteps. Nothing says ‘Get Out’ like loud banging and footsteps in the pitch black hallway of an abandoned hospital. Needless to say we didn’t hang around to see who or what it was – looks like a third visit will be in order.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been following my blog for the last year (and longer) and I hope that you will continue to follow my next adventure in photography – 365daysofphotography.ca – for year 5!

I took myself on a little adventure today. I had only intended on checking out a couple of abandoned houses that Rebecca found during a couple weeks back but then I stumbled upon this gem. I wasn’t totally prepared for some full on exploring today so I didn’t get much inside – that and it is pretty creepy when you explore interiors by yourself. This place is definitely screaming for a return visit and tomorrow Kathy and I will be doing just that!

Today we celebrated Rebecca’s birthday with a fantastic brunch at Ivy in Burlington and that was quickly followed up by a well deserved afternoon nap. I took a trip down to William’s on the harbour to see what was going on there with the intention of walking around taking pictures but it was far too cold for that so I left only with this.

In a whirlwind of food, family and presents, another Christmas has come and gone. Now all that is left is to do is clean up and get ready to meet the new year – and at some point get back on the wagon and start eating properly and exercising regularly again.

The day has finally arrived. The boys were up at 7am sharp, ripping into their stockings. We quickly moved the party downstairs where they found that Santa had once again paid them a visit – Benjamin got the new digital camera that he had asked for while Jacob got a shiny new (purple) laptop. Once all the gifts had been opened the rest of the day was a lot more relaxed with naps for everyone. The day was topped off by a fantastic turkey dinner with all the trimmings – yummo!

Time for the family Christmas dinner! This year it was once again held at my sister’s place in Guelph. It was quite a spectacular drive up hwy 6 with the sun reflecting off all the ice covered trees, houses and fences. The boys spent the day running around the house with their cousins only slowing down long enough to open some presents before they were off again. After dinner, the four of them pretty much crashed in front of the t.v. watching Toy Story.
